Controversy Between Zohran Mamdani and TrumpThe controversy between U.S. President Donald Trump and New York’s young mayor Zohran Mamdani began before the elections when President Donald Trump issued statements targeting Zohran. Trump addressed Jewish voters who might vote for Zohran Mamdani as “fools,” accusing Mamdani of being anti-Israel and pro-Palestine. After the elections, he linked the Republican defeat to his absence and the government shutdown.
In his victory speech, Mamdani challenged Trump: “Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: Turn the volume up!” He added, “New York will remain a city of immigrants and will stop you.” He also dismissed the threat of the National Guard, stating that it was politics, not security.
