Delhi Blast: Large-Scale Arrests Continue

In the Delhi Blast case, operations by NIA, UP ATS, and ED are ongoing. According to sources, more than 20 people have been arrested so far and hundreds have been detained for questioning.

SNPNEWS.IN News (Gurmail Kamboj): On November 10, 2025, at around 7 PM, a doctor reportedly linked to Jammu & Kashmir, Dr. Umar Un Nabi (Assistant Professor at Al-Falah University), carried out a bomb explosion at the traffic lights near Red Fort (Metro Station Gate-1) in Delhi. In this blast, apart from the suicide bomber (Dr. Umar) who was in the vehicle, 15 people died and 20 were injured due to fire spreading to 10–12 nearby vehicles.

Immediately after the blast, the area was cordoned off by NIA and security forces, and the investigation began. Home Minister Amit Shah visited the blast site and the hospital where the injured were admitted, gathered information about the victims, and stated that “the perpetrators of this attack will not be spared”.

Delhi Police/NIA classified it as a terrorist attack and invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that “the culprits will not be spared” and described it as an anti-national conspiracy.

Before the Red Fort blast, on November 9, in Faridabad (near Delhi), 350 kg of explosives, assault rifles, and material used for drone attacks were recovered. Additionally, 2,400–2,500 kg of explosives (ammonium nitrate and other materials) were seized from the residences of doctors linked to Pulwama, Saharanpur, and Al-Falah University.

Investigation agencies are terming this “White-Collar Terrorism”. Some reports suggest the group was in contact with the JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) organisation based in Pakistan. The plan was reportedly to carry out terrorist attacks at 30–32 locations, which security agencies successfully thwarted.

So far, security agencies (NIA, J&K/Haryana/Delhi Police, and ED) have arrested nearly two dozen individuals, including prominent names such as:

● Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganie (Musab), Arrested

● Dr. Adil Majid Rathar (Adil Ahmad), Arrested

● Dr. Shaheen Saeed (Shaheen Shahid), Arrested

● Aamir Rashid AliJasir Bilal Wani (Danish), Arrested

● Muhammad Arif, Detained (suspected arrest)

● Dr. Mustaqeem, Detained (suspected arrest)

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has cancelled the registration of several of these individuals. Hundreds of people have been detained for questioning in this case. According to reports, 15 persons from Kerala were also taken into custody for allegedly posting irresponsible content related to the incident on social media.

On 18 November, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Jawaad Ahmad Siddiqui (Chairman and Founder of Al-Falah University) from his residence in Delhi under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002 in a case linked to terror funding connected to the blast terror network.

Additionally, his brother Hamood Ahmad Siddiqui was arrested in a 25-year-old financial fraud case that surfaced during the investigation of the family background related to the blast.

Allegations state that Al-Falah Charitable Trust (established in 1995, with Jawaad as Managing Trustee) was used for layering and utilising unaccounted funds. The trust runs the university and nine other institutions. The ED conducted raids at 25 locations on 17–18 November and uncovered 9 shell companies (such as Al-Falah Education Service and Al-Falah Investment Limited).

UGC and NAAC have also initiated action against Al-Falah University (where several doctors and staff have been arrested). The university’s membership in the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has been suspended, and a forensic audit is underway.

Jawaad’s brother Hamood Ahmad Siddiqui was arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police from Hyderabad on 17 November 2025 and brought to Mahu (Indore district, MP). Hamood has been arrested in a 2000 fraud case involving ₹7.5 crore (FIR 43/2000 registered at New Friends Colony Police Station). He was previously arrested in 2001 and granted bail in 2004.

The round of large-scale arrests and investigations continues.
