Jalandhar: Murder of the nephew of former MLA and BJP leader Sheetal Angural by stabbing.
SNPNEWS.IN News (Gurmail Kamboj): December 13, 2025 – A highly tragic incident has come to light from near “Mai Hiran Gate” in Jalandhar West Assembly constituency, in Basti Danishmandan, Muhalla Lasoori, where some youths in the street (neighborhood) got into an argument over some matter. Following this, some youths murdered the cousin (nephew) of BJP leader and former MLA Sheetal Angural.
According to the information received, the deceased, Vikas, was only 17 years old. The incident occurred on the evening of December 12. The culprits surrounded Vikas and stabbed him more than a dozen times on his body with sharp-edged knives/weapons, which proved fatal for the young man.

The youth was immediately taken to the hospital but could not be saved. The police have registered it as a sensational crime and considered mutual dispute as the main reason.
The police reached the spot and collected CCTV footage, bullets, and other clues. Under Section 109 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), a case has been registered, and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused. In view of the possibility of any kind of violence erupting in Jalandhar, the police have made strict security arrangements.
BJP leader Sheetal Angural has described this as the failure of the Punjab government and said that such incidents are putting law and order in the state at risk. He has appealed to the police for swift action and linked it to the increasing violence of gangster elements in the state.
