Jitu tried to withdraw money from the bank several times. He told about his sister’s death, but the bank officials kept telling him to “bring the account holder” or bring the complete documents of the legal heir. He had neither the death certificate nor the succession certificate. Apart from this, the nominee had also died, so he was the only claimant left.
After being disappointed with the bank after going round and round continuously, on 27 April 2026 (Monday), in anger and compulsion, he dug up his sister’s bones from the village crematorium, wrapped them in cloth and walked about 3 km in the sun to the bank. He kept the bones outside the bank and said, “Here is the account holder, now give the money”. This created a commotion in the bank, people gathered and the police were called.
The police and the local administration (Patna Block Officer) reached the spot. He instructed the bank that since Jeetu is the only claimant, he should be given the money as soon as possible. The administration is helping him in getting a death certificate and legal heir certificate. The bones of the deceased have been reburied by the administration.
