It has been 51 days since the Israel-US-Iran war began, and the impact of this war is being felt in major industrial areas of the country due to inflation and energy (Gas Shortage) shortages. Due to the closure of factories after the war, a large number of workers are returning to their villages.
SNPNEWS.IN News (India): After the Israel-US attack on Iran on February 28, there was a shortage of gas, petrol, and diesel in the country in the initial phase, as a result of which hotel businesses, urea production units, and other small and medium businesses started closing, and it became difficult for thousands of people to save their jobs.
As the war got longer, the country’s industrial units started closing due to gas shortages and inflation. First, the tiles manufacturing units of Surat were closed, then the textile industries, hosiery, and other businesses started closing due to gas shortages and inflation. Due to the increase in the cost of gas and transport, small factories have started laying off workers. As a result, workers are migrating from industrial areas, including Gujarat, Delhi, and Ludhiana in Punjab.
Factories facing energy shortages are closing down. Workers are getting cooking gas at 3-4 times the price, and daily necessities are getting expensive due to increased transport and other expenses. Due to this, there is a fear of loss of employment of 2-5 lakh people. Due to the closure of work, the workers are unable to pay the rent, due to which they are leaving the city en masse.

Apart from Surat in Gujarat, Anand Vihar station in Delhi, and Ludhiana railway station, workers from all over the country have started migrating because a large part of the earnings of the workers is now being spent only on cooking utensils. Recently, a large number of workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and other states gathered at the Surat railway station in Gujarat to catch a train going to their respective villages, creating an illegal crowd and stampede-like situation, leading to the police having to vacate the station by resorting to mild lathicharge, videos of which are circulating on social media in large numbers.
If the international supply of oil and gas is not restored soon, this exodus could cause a major blow to the Indian economy, especially the manufacturing sector.
